General Orders

How long will my order take to arrive?

This is a tricky question these days! The Zone ships via air directly from Hong Kong, and you will receive a tracking number once it ships (usually 1-2 days.) From then on it may take 5-14 business days depending on where you are you in the world.

For the US, The Zone will be available locally sometime in Spring, at which point it will ship faster!

Returns & Refunds

If for any reason you change your mind before the game ships out, I’ll be happy to process a refund. However, I cannot accept returns because of the prohibitively high cost of getting the game back to the warehouse in Hong Kong. (It sounds wild, but I’ve learned that it can cost me more than the game itself to process a return!)

That said, if your game shows up damaged in any way, I absolutely want to fix that for you! Email me with some digital images documenting the damage, and I’ll work with our shipper to get you a replacement as soon as possible.


THE ZONE KICKSTARTER (Sep 29 - Nov 1)

Q: I missed the Kickstarter. Can I still get The Zone?

You absolutely can! The pre-order store is here.

Q: My copy of the game hasn’t arrived yet!

As of this writing (Jan 11th, 2024), all but a handful of The Zone have shipped to backers who filled out their surveys and paid for postage via BackerKit.

If you haven’t received your order yet, that might mean that it’s still in transit. To check that, please retrieve your BackerKit link by clicking here and click on the tracking information to see where your package is.

If your package says it’s been delivered but you don’t have it, please email me.

Q: I was a crowdfunding backer but didn’t fill out my BackerKit survey or never received my book. How can I claim my pledge rewards?

If you filled out your BackerKit survey and paid for shipping, please email me.

If you never filled out your BackerKit survey to give me your shipping address, or did not pay for shipping, I was unable to send your game. I tried to reach out to backers in this situation multiple times over a period of several months (via Campaign Updates and individual BackerKit reminder emails), but there were a handful of folks who I was never able to get in touch with.

If I do not hear from you by January 15, 2024 (about one year after the the surveys came out), I will release the stock for general sale, and cannot guarantee that I’ll be able to fulfill your order. This is especially important if you ordered the Containment edition, which is in very limited edition and will not be produced again!

If you are in this situation and were charged for your pledge at the end of the Kickstarter, I will continue to honor your reward until Nov 1, 2024 or until stocks run out (whichever comes soonest.) Unfortunately, I cannot offer any refunds or exchanges on unclaimed Kickstarter rewards at this point.

Q: Can you refund my Kickstarter pledge?

Unfortunately, I cannot offer any refunds or exchanges on unclaimed Kickstarter rewards at this point. As a one person business (it’s just me!), I planned all my manufacturing costs based on the number of orders that were placed during the Kickstarter. Unfortunately, it simply isn’t possible for me to refund pledges this long after the campaign ended.

Q: When you say “the Kickstarter is fulfilled”, what do you mean?

Here is how I draw the line:

  • (1) Pledges during the Kickstarter. I’m including Kickstarter pledges, and any add-ons or upgrades to those pledges.
  • (2) Pre-orders placed after the Kickstarter, via BackerKit.
  • (3) Orders placed after shipping started (which I’m calling Nov 23, 2023, 2:25am PST because that’s when the very first package left the warehouse 🙌)

When I say Kickstarter fulfillment I mean (1) and (2). Orders placed afterwards (3) are just regular orders, and I’m fulfilling them as they come!
